Lois R. Solomon

Lois R. Solomon became Of Counsel to the firm in 2017. Lois has been practicing law in the public and private sector since 1990, and from 1987-1989 practiced in public accounting. Lois’ focus is on a business and tax practice, concentrating on estate planning and estate administration, the representation of closely held businesses and wealthy individuals and business structuring.
Lois has a wide range of legal experience. Practicing law in both the public and the private sector has given her a unique perspective on the counseling of estate planning and closely held businesses. She has also been a speaker for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Lois was the Manager of Tax Administration for the City of Chicago where she was responsible for the collection and administration of all city taxes, including negotiating settlement agreements with taxpayers and drafting tax laws and regulations. Additionally, in the public sector, Lois was a Special Assistant Attorney General to the Illinois Department of Revenue where she represented the State of Illinois in income tax cases against corporate and individual taxpayers. In private practice, Lois has been concentrating in estate planning, tax planning and representation of closely held businesses and wealthy individuals. Lois’ practicing of law in the private and public sector, as well as practicing public accounting, has positioned her to provide legal, business and financial advice to business owners and wealthy individuals.
