Evan Ahto joined the firm in 2016 and is an associate in the firm’s business transactions group. Evan has significant experience in commercial real estate, business and equipment finance transactions, risk analysis, creditor’s rights, workouts and restructures, foreclosures, UCC Sales, landlord/tenant matters, and tax issues.
Evan has represented owners, developers, businesses, public and private banks/lenders, landlords and tenants in a variety of transactional contexts and has drafted and negotiated all manner of transactional documents including, loan documents, purchase and sale agreements, ground and space leases, development agreements, joint venture and partnership agreements, commercial mortgage foreclosure documents, corporate governance documents, settlement agreements and tax appeals.
As a previous financial analyst and commercial loan underwriter, Evan has substantial business experience structuring and securing financing for commercial projects ranging in size from $1 to $500 million utilizing conventional, conduit/bond, debt, equity, private money, and SBA Financing. Evan graduated from DePaul College of Law in 2011 and received CALI awards in Legal Drafting for Real Estate Transactions and in Workouts/Restructures of Financially Troubled Companies.
